About Me
I've tried keeping journals from time to time, but they've never really satisfied my need to write. They've been more like diaries, which are therapeutic tools, but writing I would share with no one else.
I enjoy writing fiction, both short stories and novels. I used to write a lot of poetry, but through several creative writing courses in college, I have realized that short stories appeal to me more.
Although I haven't taken advantage of a lot of social media, the idea of a blog has seemed increasingly tempting recently. Although it's not the same as publishing my work, whether in literary magazines or as books, it can still reach a wide audience interested in hearing the thoughts of an individual who likes writing about interestingly unconnected musings.
For a non-writing breakdown of me:
I've got a B.A. in Sociology with minors in International Arts, English, and Business.
Interests: singing, reading, writing, studying people, conducting research, music (listening to it and playing piano and guitar), art, museums, traveling, coffee, and tea
Favorite Books: Any good writer is an avid reader. In fact, my passion for reading preceded my passion for writing and is still one of the most enjoyable pastimes. There are so many amazing books - too many to list - but here are a few. Enduring Love, Notes from Underground, The Trial, Harry Potter Series, Fire Dance Series, Haroun, Life of Pi, Shakespeare plays (my favorite is King Lear), Rashi's Daughters, My Sister's Keeper
Favorite Music: This is way too hard to limit to a list. I honestly like almost anything tonal (except rap and some country). There are some atonal pieces I like as well.
Favorite Movies: The Uninvited, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Disney and Pixar movies (particularly Aladdin, WALL-E, Up, Sleeping Beauty, Meet the Robinson's, The Lion King, etc.), Run Lola Run, RENT, Pan's Labyrinth, Hitchcock films, the Monty Python series, the Harry Potter Series
Places I've Been: England, Greece (including Crete and Mykonos), Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, and Jordan. I hope to travel more!
